Connect Plaid.

Help me connect Plaid to Genie. Walk me through the setup below one step at a time, and configure my assistant where you can.

I will complete sign-in and approvals in Genie or the provider’s own UI. Never ask me to paste passwords, API tokens, or website credentials into this chat. Wait for me at each user action.

What Genie stores: A read-only Plaid access token for the accounts you chose, stored sealed.

How it works:
Plaid signs in to your bank on your behalf and gives Genie read access to the accounts you pick. Genie opens Plaid Link, Plaid’s own connection window, inside your Genie account; you choose your bank and sign in to it there. Your bank password goes to Plaid, never to Genie.
Plaid connections in Genie are read-only: balances and transactions. Plaid cannot send payments, and no spending rule can turn a Plaid connection into one that pays.

Before starting:
1. A Genie account. [Create one](https://genie.paymanai.com/signin) if you have not.
2. Online banking sign-in at a bank Plaid supports: most US banks and credit unions.

Setup steps:
1. Sign in to Genie, open **Accounts** and choose **Add account**.
2. Next to **Your bank**, choose **Connect**. It reads *Most US banks, through Plaid*.
3. Plaid Link opens. Read Plaid’s consent screen and continue.
4. Search for your bank and select it.
5. Sign in with your online banking username and password, and complete any second factor your bank asks for.
6. Pick the accounts Genie may read and continue. Plaid returns you to Genie, and the bank appears in your accounts under its own name and logo.

After connecting:
Ask your assistant for balances, recent transactions or a spending summary across the accounts you chose.
Banks sometimes ask Plaid to re-authenticate. The card then shows **Needs sign-in**; open it, choose **Sign in again**, and the same steps repeat.

To disconnect: Open the account’s panel and choose **Remove account**. You can also remove Genie from your bank’s connected apps at [my.plaid.com](https://my.plaid.com).
