How Genie connects to Claude

Claude connects to Genie’s MCP server at https://genie.paymanai.com/mcp. When you add it as a custom connector, Claude discovers Genie’s OAuth server, registers itself automatically and sends you to Genie to sign in. Nothing to copy: no token, no client ID, no secret.

What to have ready

  • A Genie account. Create one if you have not.
  • Claude on claude.ai or the desktop app, on a plan that allows custom connectors.

Step by step

Set up Genie in Claude

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.

  2. Name: Genie. Remote MCP server URL: https://genie.paymanai.com/mcp.

  3. Under Authentication choose Sign in now. Under OAuth client choose Register automatically, even if Claude first detects Use your own OAuth client. Leave client ID, client secret and request headers blank.

  4. Save. When Claude asks, choose Connect. Genie opens: sign in, or create and verify your account.

  5. Review the callback website Genie shows and choose Connect to Genie.

  6. Back in Claude, turn Genie on in a chat’s tools menu and ask in plain words: “How much is in checking?”

Genie requires sign-in before any tool is available, which is why Sign in now is the right choice.

What Claude may spend is set in your Genie account under Policies, not in Claude.

To disconnect: Remove the connector under Settings → Connectors in Claude, or disconnect Claude under Account → Agents in Genie.
