How it connects
How Genie connects to Grok Bot
Grok Bot connects to Genie’s MCP server at https://genie.paymanai.com/mcp when your version offers adding a custom remote MCP server by URL. It then discovers Genie’s OAuth server, registers itself and sends you to Genie to sign in.
Grok Bot documents Settings → Plugins but not a universal custom-URL form or its OAuth labels, so these steps apply only where that form exists. The Grok Build CLI is a separate product with its own instructions.
Before you start
What to have ready
- A Genie account. Create one if you have not.
- A Grok Bot version that offers custom remote MCP servers with OAuth.
Step by step
Set up Genie in Grok Bot
Open Settings → Plugins in Grok Bot. If your version offers adding a custom remote MCP server by URL, open that form.

What happens next
If your version has no custom remote MCP form, this setup is unavailable there; Genie’s own web chat and the other assistants remain.
What Grok Bot may spend is set in your Genie account under Policies, not in Grok Bot.
To disconnect: Remove the plugin in Grok Bot, or disconnect Grok Bot under Account → Agents in Genie.
