Message for Codex

Set up Genie for me by following https://genie.paymanai.com/connectors/codex. If you can't change your own settings, walk me through it one step at a time.

Read instructions
Add Genie to yourself. Do each step below where you can, and stop to tell me whenever I need to act. If you can't change your own settings, walk me through them one at a time.

I will complete sign-in and approvals in Genie or the provider’s own UI. Never ask me to paste passwords, API tokens, or website credentials into this chat. Wait for me at each user action.

Site: https://developers.openai.com/codex
Connection method: One message; Codex adds Genie’s bridge app as a local MCP server
What Genie stores: A Genie sign-in that the bridge app keeps in a private file on your computer. No API key.

How it works:
Codex runs local MCP servers listed in `~/.codex/config.toml`. Genie’s bridge app (`@paymanai/genie-mcp-stdio`) is a small local program that passes messages between Codex and Genie. It decides nothing and keeps your Genie sign-in in a private file.

Before starting:
1. A Genie account. [Create one](https://genie.paymanai.com/signin) if you have not.
2. The Codex CLI and Node.js (for `npx`), in a terminal you can see.

Setup steps:
1. Open `~/.codex/config.toml`, or create it if it does not exist.
2. Add a server named `genie`: `[mcp_servers.genie]` with `command = "npx"` and `args = ["-y", "@paymanai/genie-mcp-stdio"]`. No `env` block.
3. Run `npx -y @paymanai/genie-mcp-stdio login`. Your browser opens Genie: sign in, or create and verify your account, then choose **Connect to Genie**. The terminal prints *Signed in to Genie.*
4. Restart Codex, type **/mcp** to check that **genie** is listed, then ask: “In one sentence, what can you help me with?”
5. In Genie, open **Agents**, find Codex and turn on the accounts it may use.

Exact settings:
- Config file: ~/.codex/config.toml
- Server entry: [mcp_servers.genie] command = "npx", args = ["-y", "@paymanai/genie-mcp-stdio"]
- Sign-in: npx -y @paymanai/genie-mcp-stdio login

After connecting:
Codex may ask before it edits the config file or runs the sign-in; both need your OK.
To sign out, run `npx -y @paymanai/genie-mcp-stdio logout`. What Codex may spend is set in your Genie account under **Policies**.

To disconnect: Remove `[mcp_servers.genie]` from `~/.codex/config.toml` and run `npx -y @paymanai/genie-mcp-stdio logout`, or disconnect Codex under **Account → Agents** in Genie.
