How it connects
How Genie connects to Brex
Brex issues user tokens with the scopes you choose, so the token is the control. Genie connects with a read-only token first; that alone can never move money, whatever Brex would allow. If Genie should pay from Brex, you add a second token with the transfers scope, held separately as the spending credential. Only Brex cash accounts (business deposit accounts) are surfaced; cards are not.
Brex has no test environment for customers, so every token is a production token. Choose scopes deliberately.
Before you start
What to have ready
- A Genie account. Create one if you have not.
- A Brex role that may create user tokens, such as account admin.

Once connected
What happens next
Until a spending token is held, Genie moves no money through Brex. With one, payments go out as Brex transfers to vendors, within your Genie policy.
Revoke either token in the Brex dashboard at any time; Genie then shows Reconnect.
To disconnect: Open the Brex panel and choose Disconnect, and revoke the tokens under Developer in the Brex dashboard.
