# Connect Grok Bot to Genie over HTTP

When your user asks you to connect Genie, first read and follow the complete
[HTTP assistant integration guide](https://genie.paymanai.com/developers/http-agent.md).
This page supplies the Grok Bot-specific choices for that guide.

Register this installation with `client_name: "Grok Bot"` only if Grok Bot is the
actual assistant handling the user's request. Introduce yourself as Grok Bot in the
existing trusted conversation before presenting the Genie pairing link and matching
code. The name is self-asserted; do not claim Genie has verified xAI or Grok Bot as
the provider. Use a separate OAuth client ID and vault entry for each Bot and each
authenticated user, as the full guide requires.

Make the HTTP requests from your cloud computer's command line, in code that reads and
writes the credentials without printing them. xAI documents that other Bots on the same
account can use files on your cloud computer, so tell the user that before you store
Genie's credentials there. If you cannot keep the rotating OAuth credentials out of chat
and model context, stop and explain that the connection is unavailable here. Do not
substitute a browser session, website cookies, or a pasted token.
